Dear Friend of the National Parks,
That's right. Making an
investment in our national parks can help our economy. How much?
Upwards of 57,000 jobs. Right now, the National Park Service has
more than $1 billion worth of needed, ready-to-go, job-creating
projects in national parks across the country, including Acadia,
Death Valley, Glacier, and the Great Smoky Mountains. Better
yet, over an 18-month to 2-year timeframe, there are more than
$2.5 billion worth of job-creating projects in our national
parks.
In these tough economic times, Congress and the
Obama Administration are looking for ways to help jumpstart the
economy--and they need look no further than our national parks.
We need your help to spread the word. Can you write a letter
to your local newspaper?
Congress will be
acting soon on an economic recovery package, and our national
parks should be included. Write your letter today to call
attention to the benefits of reinvesting in our economy while
helping our national parks. Don't wait! Congress is taking
action now, and we need to saturate newspapers all over the
country with this message. Write your letter
today!
Thanks for all you do,

Craig Obey Senior Vice President of Government
Affairs NPCA
P.S. Studies show that every dollar
spent on national parks returns $4 to the economy. An economic
boost to our national parks now will create jobs and give our
national parks the boost they need as we move toward the 100th
anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016. We need
everyone to know the benefits of investing in our national
parks. Writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper
helps call attention to this important opportunity to restore
our heritage for our children and grandchildren. So, don't wait;
write your letter
today!
