BLM: Protect our landscapes from oil and gas drilling and extraction. | National Parks Conservation Association
National Parks Conservation Association

Speak out for parks and public lands!

Our National Parks are vital for wildlife, outdoor recreation, tribal and other cultural connections, and clean water, are heavily impacted by what happens outside of them.

For too long, the close proximity of oil and gas leases to national parks has directly contributed to harmful effects on both the environment and park visitors. We need to reform the federal onshore oil and gas program. It’s a necessary step forward in public lands management and could do more to address the urgency of the climate crisis.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is proposing added protections for our public lands and national parks from oil and gas drilling for the first since in over 35 years. Urge the BLM to steer future extraction away from our parks and reduce climate emissions on public lands.
