Stop destruction to Arizona’s national parks

Russ McSpadden / Center for Biological Diversity

In the heart of Arizona's Sonoran Desert, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument protects one of the most biologically rich landscapes in the National Park System and a rare desert oasis known as Quitobaquito Springs. This special place supports unique wildlife, provides water, and remains an important cultural site for the O'odham peoples today. Now, that landscape is under threat.

The Trump administration is moving forward with the construction of a second border wall at Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, potentially running up to, or even through, Quitobaquito Springs. At the same time, border wall construction is advancing at Coronado National Memorial, where blasting and bulldozing threaten wildlife habitat and one of the last remaining wildlife corridors along the Arizona-Mexico border.

America's national parks should not be sacrificed for another border wall project. Urge the U.S. Customs and Border Protection to protect Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, Coronado National Memorial, and the irreplaceable wildlife, cultural resources, and sacred sites that depend on them.
