We could see one of the largest fire sales of public lands in our nation’s history – with roughly 3 million acres going to the highest bidder – thanks to the Senate’s new budget reconciliation bill. And more than 120 national parks could feel the impacts.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, this same bill slashes funding for park staffing, prioritizes oil and gas drilling -- even on park borders -- and forces construction of the twice-rejected Ambler Mining Road through Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve.
It’s an unpopular and controversial bill, but the Senate could vote as soon as next week.
Take action right now to tell your senators that you want to see all America’s parks and public lands protected.
