Call Congress to Protect Park Funding

Every park matters. Every story counts. And every site deserves protection.

There are more than 430 national parks across the country -- battlefields, seashores, recreation areas, and historical sites and monuments that preserve American history and landscapes. These parks come in all shapes and sizes and are loved by communities of Park Protectors, like you, who seek to support them.

Americans have come together and worked tirelessly to protect priceless natural and cultural resources, often in our backyards. And we continue that work together, today.

Now is the time to urge Congress to take decisive action and safeguard the future of America’s beloved National Park System. Every member of Congress must act now to stand up against these extreme assaults on our parks for us all, and for future generations.

Never called Congress before? No worries! Here are some suggested talking points to use when calling your elected officials:

Sample Talking Points

Hello, My name is______. I’m from_____ (town/state).

I urge you to stand with national park lovers everywhere and commit to protecting every park

Right now, everything we know and love about national parks is on the line. Park staff, wildlife, funding and history have all been targeted and desperately need protection.

As you consider funding levels for our National Park System, I hope you will do everything you can to make sure every park has the funding they need to be staffed, protected and open to the public. And I urge you to reject any efforts to remove national park units from the system.

Now is the time for you to speak out and put a stop to the attacks on our parks.
