Vote NO on House Joint Resolution 140

A foreign-owned company is trying to mine toxic sulfide-ore copper in the headwaters of Voyageurs National Park and Boundary Waters Canoe Area and Wilderness. These cherished wild lands and waters are protected by a 20-year mineral withdrawal banning copper mining on federal public lands in these headwaters.

House Joint Resolution 140 is a congressional effort that seeks to overturn the mining ban using the Congressional Review Act—a dangerous tactic that would allow Congress to retroactively target and vote on virtually any existing public land protection decision. This maneuver not only endangers the Boundary Waters and Voyageurs but could threaten protections for public lands nationwide.

Mining has already caused irreversible damage to our national parks, leaving behind permanently contaminated waters at places like Grand Canyon. We cannot allow the Boundary Waters and Voyageurs National Park to become the next example. Demand your representative defend these irreplaceable waters and ensure they remain protected for generations to come.
